About The Path of Still Point Wellness

The Path of Still Point Wellness begins with our relationship with our self, our true nature. It is from this relationship that true wellness emanates. The four components of Still Point Wellness include:

  • Therapeutic Body Work

  • Self Care

  • Education

  • Helping Others

Through the Path of Still Point Wellness (link to full description below) I aspire to offer the most effective, personalized and affordable advanced body work and massage experience in Central Texas. Because the Path of Still Point Wellness is rooted in the nature of our being and therefore our relationship with our true nature, it offers a multi-dimensional approach to therapeutic body work in order to address the root causes of pain and discomfort, reverse or prevent chronic conditions, and assist us in taking control of our wellness destiny and by extension contribute to the health of the Earth and all living things through its umbrella program The Gaia Center for Global Wellness and Trauma Healing.

Therapeutic Body Work

The first component on the Path of Still Point Wellness addresses episodic, recurring and chronic pain, stressors and traumas of life through Therapeutic Body Work. A multi-dimensional approach to body work acknowledges that we all have a unique tension or stress profile that reflects how complex systems in our body express or manifest blocked energy.  My massage and body work practice assesses and addresses, with a wide variety of modalities, tension and imbalance held in eight major bodily systems: Muscular, Skeletal, Fascial, Nervous, Lymphatic, Somato-Emotional, Cranio Sacral, and Energetic Systems such as chakra’s and auric fields.

Self Care

The second component on the Path of Still Point Wellness recognizes that self care practices are critical to mollifying and even reversing the pain associated with chronic conditions such as joint, muscle, and regional pain syndromes such as neck, low back, hip, knee and ankle pain. Still Point Wellness recommends self- care strategies, hosts workshops and posts instructional materials for improving sleep position, energizing one’s posture, and adjusting one’s diet in ways that can help us take charge of our health and wellbeing.

Education

The third component of the Path of Still Point Wellness is Education. As the famous Maxim of the Sphinx goes: “Know thyself.” This is one of our fundamental tasks in this life. But where do we begin on this journey of self-inquiry, self- understanding and ultimate self-actualization? These days there is too much information and it is difficult to know where to start if one is curious about improving one’s life. Based on one’s body work and self care directions and needs, SPW provides resources for expanding one’s understanding of the context for wellness in one’s life.

Helping Others — The Gaia Center

The fourth step on the Path of Still Point Wellness is caring for others through the Gaia Center for Global Wellness and Trauma Healing.  The Gaia Center is a joint initiative of Eric Mendelman and Bridget Riddler that open doors to helping the earth and its people as an expression of our own wellness journey.  The Gaia Center for Wellness and Trauma Healing is an extension of Eric and Bridget’s partnership in wellness and brings together their shared vision of earth and community healing.  The special focus of the Gaia Center is trauma healing based on Eric’s sensitivity to the plight of torture survivors and displaced people, and Bridget’s upbringing in South African and her experience growing up amidst the trauma of a country and people undergoing disruption and trauma that is unimaginable to those of us who only know life in the US. To take your wellness journey beyond you own personal wellness, click here to go to the Gaia Center for Wellness and Trauma Healing.
